Diagnostic & Surgical Hysteroscopy

A hysteroscopy is a minor procedure in which the lining of the womb is examined by the use of a camera. Abnormalities identified in the lining of the womb can also be removed at the same time. It is useful to identify the cause of excessive menstrual flow, scanty menstrual flow, vaginal bleeding after menopause, unexplained infertility, repeated IVF failure etc.
Typically, it takes between 10 mins to 45 minutes depending on the findings and type of intervention.
Last meal should be at least 10 hours before, it is advisable to come with an adult to accompany me home.
It can be done at any phase of the cycle as long as the woman is not on her menstrual flow?
This is when a fibroid is removed from the lining of the womb during a hysteroscopy. Please note that not all fibroids can be removed by hysteroscopy.
I will return home same day after my hysteroscopy and usually within 24 hours, I can resume normal activities.
This is when a repeat procedure is recommended In order to confirm that all abnormalities identified have been completely corrected. This is especially common when there are severe adhesions, or fibroid in the lining in the womb.
